Kershaw Gardens

Moores Creek Road, North Rockhampton 4701

A short distance from Rockhampton’s CBD and with easy access from the Bruce Highway, these parklands feature a popular playground with a climbing orb, monorail, barbeques, and water splash area. When the kids have been worn out, take a stroll through the parklands, visit the waterfall and Rainforest Rapids. Kershaw Gardens is suitable for all members of the family—including pets.

Rockhampton Botanic Gardens

100 Spencer Street, The Range 4700

Rockhampton Botanic Gardens is home to Rockhampton’s free zoo and its family of animals—including chimpanzees, meerkats, otters, monkeys, colourful birds, crocodiles, dingoes, and kangaroos. Surrounding the zoo, you’ll find gardens inspired by locations around the world, an animal-inspired playground, lagoons, picnic areas, and walking trails. Rockhampton Botanic Gardens is an affordable and enjoyable way to spend the day with the whole family.

Fitzroy Adventure Playground

When you visit Rockhampton’s CBD for a coffee or weekend brunch, check out the Fitzroy Adventure Playground. Part of the Riverside Precinct, this playground features slides, a wonder web, and rock-climbing walls.

Dinosaur Park–Alf Kele Memorial Park

Next to Rockhampton’s main swimming pool and the Fitzroy River, “Dinosaur Park”—as its affectionately known—is a great place for your family to relax on a hot day. Here you’ll find shaded playgrounds and barbeques, an off-leash dog area, a riverside walking track and a popular skate park.

Mount Morgan No 7 Dam Recreation Area

2 Brynes Parade, Mount Morgan 4714

Set in the picturesque surrounds of Mount Morgan No 7 Dam, Boyd Park features a large covered area with play equipment, barbeques, and other facilities. Make a day of it, experiencing Mount Morgan’s gold mining heritage or by enjoying a paddle on the lake.

Cedric Archer Park

Ian Besch Drive, Gracemere 4702

Make a splash at Cedric Archer Park in Gracemere, where you’ll find a free splash area for the kids. This community hub also includes a skate park, pump track, Touch of Paradise gardens, and a footy field. It’s located next to Gracemere’s swimming pool, bowls club, and golf club.
