Rockhampton Hospital is the base hospital and headquarters for the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, providing emergency treatment, surgical procedures, mental health, maternity services, and specialist outpatient clinics. The hospital continues to evolve to meet demands, as demonstrated by the current and upcoming construction of a Cardiac Hybrid Theatre and expanded Mental Health Inpatient Unit.
Rockhampton is also serviced by the Mater and Hillcrest private hospitals. CQ Health also operates a hospital in Mount Morgan, around 40 minutes from Rockhampton.
