Hospitals

Rockhampton Hospital is the base hospital and headquarters for the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, providing emergency treatment, surgical procedures, mental health, maternity services, and specialist outpatient clinics. The hospital continues to evolve to meet demands, as demonstrated by the current and upcoming construction of a Cardiac Hybrid Theatre and expanded Mental Health Inpatient Unit.

Rockhampton is also serviced by the Mater and Hillcrest private hospitals. CQ Health also operates a hospital in Mount Morgan, around 40 minutes from Rockhampton.

General Health Services

Located throughout Rockhampton are more than a dozen GP and specialist clinics, and a range of optometrists, podiatrists, and dentists.

The recently opened Fitzroy Community Hospice provides compassionate end-of-life care to Central Queenslanders and is the first of its kind in the region.

Other Health Services

Anywhere, anytime. CapRescue is a helicopter rescue service based in Rockhampton, providing emergency transportation and primary care to rural and remote areas of Central Queensland. Rockhampton is also home to a Royal Flying Doctor Service base, connecting locals to medical care across Queensland.
