The CBD is also a focal point for some of our most beloved community events including Rockynats and Rocky River Run, so you’ll never have too far to travel to feel like you’re part of the community.

Hustle and bustle?

Let’s get one thing straight though – Rockhampton’s CBD comes without a lot of the drawbacks you’d find living in a larger regional centre or capital city.

For a start, there is no paid parking in our city centre off-street parking. In fact, Rockhampton includes a number of free, all-day parking areas within no more than a five minute walk of the CBD.

While traffic inevitably builds up during peak times, our roads get busy over comparatively short periods of time and getting around the CBD during the workday is a breeze. The city centre is also well serviced by the local bus network, which charges just 50 cents for a ride and connects you to the rest of Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast.
