Eating Out

Young couple eating dinner at a restuarant in Rockhampton CBD.

Make no mi(steak) … There’s more to Rockhampton than just beef!

Our sunny weather means our farmers are able to deliver some fantastic specimens of locally grown fruit, vegetables and animal products.

Then we take it from paddock to plate.

There are plenty of opportunities to become a regular at one of the local cafes, restaurants and pubs!

If you are looking for somewhere to dine with great riverfront views, iconic heritage scenes or or electric atmosphere then you’re in luck. You’ll find a mix of fine dining restaurants, cafes, pubs and takeaways right in the middle of Rockhampton’s CBD. Take on a trivia challenge, sip on cocktails with the girls, watch the footy with the blokes, listen to the sweet live tunes or get serious with the dancefloor; whatever you’re style, you’ll find it close to the banks of the Fitzroy River.

Otherwise break out and find your local haunt – with Indian, Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants and takeaway hot spots hidden in pockets of suburbia.

Take the night off cooking over the weekend and head down to Rockhampton Region’s very own Eat Street. Try something new each week; starting with German sausages, baked potatoes, wood fire pizzas or make it a sweet treat and add Dutch pancakes, ice-cream and the dessert bar to your list!

And brunch go-er’s we haven’t forgotten you! You have a platter of cafes to choose from after your exercise session on a Saturday morning. Smashed avo, poached eggs and coffee hubs are scattered all over the region.

It would be a crime though to not secretly enjoy an eye fillet, while watching eight thrilling seconds of bull riding action at one of the only hotels in Australia that has rodeo area.

Between the Rockhampton CBD, the Terrace at Stockland Rockhampton, the strip of takeaway restaurants along Bruce Highway strip and regular local markets you are sure to find something to curb those hunger pains.
