We like the nightlife...
When the sun sets over the Fitzroy, there’s plenty more to see and do! No matter what your preferred pace of nightlife, the Rockhampton Region has something for everyone.
From fine dining (and arguably the best steak in Australia) to a stroll down East Street with its enchanting fairy lights, kicking up your heels at the Great Western Hotel or dancing the night away, you can choose your own adventure.
Live music scene
Rockhampton has a constantly evolving live music scene and is home to a fantastic variety of local bands and musicians that play on a regular basis across a number of venues each weekend.
With national and international performers regularly gracing stages at the Headricks Lane and 45 East Street you will be spoilt for choice whether you're rockin' out to some heavy metal, swooning to some smooth jazz or boot scooting to country music legends.
Perhaps catching a good DJ set is more your thing? The Giddy Goat Bar and Zodiac Nightclub are venues worth visiting to see nationally acclaimed and local electronic acts as you dance the night away.
To get a taste of some of our local talented musicians, tune into our Virtual Sunday Sessions filmed from atop our beautiful Nurim Mount Archer. Watch internationally recognised Busby Marou, supported by local legends The Short Fall, and Brad Butcher and Denvah Music.
If you’re a sports fan, catch a CQ Capras or Rockhampton Rockets game on the weekend. Parking isn’t a problem, and there’s a relaxed atmosphere – no fighting the crowds at Browne Park or Adani Arena!
Looking for a quiet evening?
Why not head over to Stockland Rockhampton's Terrace (open til late) for a wide range of dining options including Lone Star Rib House, Guzman Y Gomez, Schnitz, Burger Urge and Gelatissimo before heading to Event Cinemas to catch the latest release.
Culture, music and theatre more your speed? The Rockhampton’s Pilbeam Theatre and Art Gallery precinct has plenty to offer as well.
